Chapter 24 Vineyards Tasting Room

Their Story

Established in 2012, Chapter 24 Vineyards is a collaborative project from Willamette Valley veteran Mark Tarlov and Louis Michel Liger-Belair of Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair in Vosne-Romaneé, Burgundy. In 2014, Max Marriott joined the Chapter 24 Vineyards team to head the Oregon production. Named for the final chapter of Homer’s Odyssey, Chapter 24 Vineyards crafts wine using the unique infusion method, a focus on infusing flavors without imparting weight and tannin. The winery produces 3500 cases annually, carefully sourcing grapes from 44 small parcels spanning across 6 sub-AVAs of the Willamette Valley. Wine & Spirits magazine spotlighted Chapter 24 among the 2014 Wineries of the Year and named the 2012 Willamette Valley The Last Chapter Pinot Noir one of the 100 Best Wines of the Year. Wine Spectator magazine recently called Chapter 24 “a new name to know.

The Wine

Last Chapter: “Well-buffed and ripe, dancing deftly over refined tannins to deliver currant and blackberry fruit in spades, glinting with hot stone and meaty notes as the finish lingers expressively. Drink now through 2022.” — H.S

The Flood: “Crisp and detailed, shining a spotlight on the blackberry, currant, smoke and nutmeg flavors in turn as they spin effortlessly through a long and expressive finish. Drink now through 2020.” — H.S

The Fire: “Fresh and vibrant, with a layer of refined tannins underlining the currant and black cherry fruit, turning steely on the finish. Best from 2015 through 2020.” — H.S
